How to Pack for Moving House in the UAE: Room-by-Room Packing Tips
Practical packing tips for moving house in the UAE heat, from fragile items to furniture.
Good packing prevents most moving damage. Whether you pack yourself or book professional packers, these tips keep your things safe.
Start with the right materials
- Double-wall cartons for heavy items such as books and kitchenware.
- Bubble wrap and packing paper for glass, ceramics and frames.
- Stretch film and blankets for furniture surfaces.
- Strong tape and a marker for labels on two sides of every box.
Kitchen
Wrap plates individually and pack them on their edge, not flat. Fill gaps with paper so nothing moves. Keep heavy boxes small.
Living room
Pack TVs upright with corner protection. Remove glass shelves from units and wrap them separately. Bag and label remote controls and cables.
Bedrooms and wardrobes
Use wardrobe boxes so clothes can travel on hangers. Keep a separate bag with clothes for the first two days.
Packing for the UAE heat
- Do not leave candles, cosmetics or electronics in a hot truck for long.
- Pack medicines and documents in your own bag, not in the truck.
- Defrost and dry the fridge a day before to avoid water damage.
How to move furniture safely
Dismantle beds and large wardrobes, bag and label the screws, and wrap every part. Heavy furniture should be carried by trained movers with blankets and straps.
