Moving Day Checklist: What to Do the Morning You Move in Dubai
A short, practical list for the morning of your move, from permits to the last walk-through.
The packing is done and the truck is booked. Here is what to take care of on the morning itself.
Before the crew arrives
- Confirm the move permit and lift booking with building security.
- Keep passports, keys, chargers and medicines in a bag that travels with you.
- Defrost and dry the fridge if it was not done the night before.
- Reserve parking near the entrance for the truck if possible.
While loading
- Walk the crew leader through each room and point out fragile items.
- Tell them which items are not going.
- Keep children and pets in one quiet room.
Before you leave
- Check cupboards, balconies and storage rooms one last time.
- Take meter readings and photos of the empty apartment.
- Hand over keys and access cards as agreed with your landlord.
At the new home
- Show the crew where each room is and where large furniture should go.
- Check the beds are reassembled first, so the first night is comfortable.
